Giving birth
on God’s earth
and having the calf taken away
the rape the nine long months of waiting
The birth inside of course creating
the milk to feed
the farmer who
steals the calf away
tis true
a strong bond
develops, they
suffer in the extreme
they say
crying out wondering where
the calf has gone
mothers aware
snuggling up and smooching long
honestly so much is wrong
the calf is taken
so humans can
be sold the milk
to be drunk by man
a cow lives maybe 40 years
in captivity possibly 4
Milked to death and sent away
for meat and for leather so they say
The smell of blood cows are frightened by
sensing death and fear it’s high
in their psyche that avid stench
and from life that final wrench
blooding out the long long moo
hung up and murdered in full view.
seeing a friend in this parlours state
snd hearing the slaughter-man berate
a friend already too much grief
which inevitably is beyond belief.
