Little fur toys
Belonged once to me
I am a rabbit
A sweet heart
You see
I lived in the ground
In a hollow and I
Was plant based
My ceiling
Was the blue sky
It was cold in the Winter
And godly care
Supplied me with a warm coat
Soft everywhere
It kept me sane
When Jack Frost was about
But those human beings
Left me is such doubt
Wildness is special
Those of us who
Live where our ancestors lived
And we do
Following the history
Living abroad
In tidy burrows
Those we can afford
But humans are after us
Some come to shoot
Others brings dogs
Some leave snares
And the root
Of our problem
Is commerce and ignorance too
They kill us for our fur
Yes that’s what they do
