“Whisper”

All scrunched up on the pavement
In a pool of her own blood
Oozing from her nose and mouth
Unconscious in a flood
Of suffering and savagery
A bitch she lay alone
Animalaid unlimited
And The angels came, who roam
The streets of Rajastan each day
Looking for victims, and she
Was one such soul all battered
By life’s adversity

They took her in a blanket
Back to hospital where she
Was examinaed
She was whining and sobbing
Constantly
Life had robbed her of the joys
Abandoned to the street
She was put on IV fluids to help to
Compete
Painkillers administered
By day five she did try
and eat a little food
Thank goodness
Which was the reason why

From that day on
She rallied
By day 15 she did try
And walk although she wobbled
But gradually did defy
Her senses and the injuries
And walked and wagged her tail
“Whisper” was a fighter
And through recovery did sail

Her hazel eyes deep set and
Clear
Her gentle pixie gaze
She had come back from the other side
Into a living phase
A gentle loving lady
Who needed the love and care
And responsed to the hugs and kisses
That everyone does share
