Wild plants

Human beings really

are egotistical  for they

believe they know what

ought to grow

in their gardens

well that’s as may

Mother Nature

has the rule book

she knows what is best

drought acidity

lack of humus

it can and does test

the wild plants

but of course

they have the where for all

and they

indicate the errors

man makes along the way

normally the

wild plants are the

specialists

they know and do strive

they’ have been growing there

for centuries

they know how, to survive

they happen because we happen

they follow us about

Plantain Chickweed Buttercup

Dandelion no doubt

Nettles Knotweed Celandine

they come up every year

some love the really acid soil

when the Sorrels and  Docks appear

but man is actually ignorant

of the secrets they unlock

he seldom sees or understands

and lets glyphosate now rock

Monsanto the true satan

that now does dwell upon

Mother earth  so tragically

till all humans are gone

if only men would have stopped to pause

to imagine the wild plants, and

realise they were indicators

of what was wrong with the land

they were Mothers Nature’s

encyclopaedia

of the imbalances there

but man was to darn clever

and so bloody unaware
