As humans
we are blessed with friends
who come from other species
but all of us should share
this planet, we
must learn to live together
not some of us be victims
not allowed to live
and to be free
all creatures great and small
do have a place here
they were created
as were you and I
some have vital energies
and some advanced technology
but sadly man UNKIND
might now ask why
abuses in such power
we think we have today
our money and the profit
we accrue
animals have marvellous
lives similar to our own
and should be left to live them
as we do
from the great cats to the elephant
the rhino and the sharks
the whales just every living soul
must be
given space to live their lives
for within us all that marks
a boundary that everyone
should see
habitat loss and over use of farming
logging forests planting GMO’s
is causing such abuse amongst the animal
fraternity
and corporate over fishing too
does pose
we have to sit back and observe
the errors
the terrors
we inflict on Planet Earth
its creatures everyone of them
is needed
every single one of them has worth
the fact that we walk upright
and use cell phones
drive our cars and speak
won’t mean a thing
every single animal that also walks this earth
imagine for a moment what they bring
they have a place
and its not to be a victim
all creatures great and small
remember, we
sang this hymn in school when we were children
and nothing’s changed
that’s how it has to be
