Musk ( a primitive deer with a small sac that harbours a brown waxy substance)

that’s what it fetches
and that’s just a kilo of
musk from a deer
used in perfumery and in cosmetics
and in pharmaceuticals too
so I hear
it can be removed without killing the animals
but most are killed
yes, anyway
the price of olfactory excellence
sadly
the musk deer
must fear
man’s approach
