Instinctively
Whale mothers
Love their offspring so
They have such understanding
Responsive to the flow
Effusiveness and empathy
They hold in high regard
And when an infant dies alas
A mother then will guard
Her infant she will keep him
By her
Every single day
Shes emotional about him
In every single way
A joyfulness abounds in her
She will not let him go
She will carry him
Till he rots away
As evidence of her woe
Off of Vancouver Island
A mother has been seen
For 17 days she has carried
Her baby long and lean
Decomposing rapidly
But a mothers love is there
And death is hard to contemplate
And the grieving she must share
These are the true animals
We are killing every day
Japan Iceland and Norway
Think they can get away
With slaughtering the sentient
When those peoples are much less
Thoughtful about each other
And, create so much stress
Amongst the wild cetaceans
Harpooning them each day
Japan is out there
Iceland too
And, we have to say
As tourists they are blacklisted
Those three countries we
Will never visit until they stop
This awful infamy
