When that great curtain descends upon us
When our eyes close and are gone
When the heart that beats each second
Has ceased and we upon
This life time are transcended
To another place where we
Shall rest to test at best the zest
Of our own infinity
What of the mind what of the love
That we have left behind
Her eyes you shared and perhaps dared
To love – where to unwind
Lost in the tomb of Mother Earth
Alone perhaps to cry
The sorrows you had saved
For this period that you lie
Alone moved just by history
An ancestor possibly
To dream away the aeons
Where you may never see
Her, she had captured, your heart
She was your very soul
And now you have been parted
You lost that leading role
Will she ever think of you
In places which you shared
In the garden and at roll rights
At moonstone where you cared
Death came with his sickle
And carted you away
And The Gade will keep on flowing
Passed her window every day
The rosemary will blossom
It’s violet kisses will
Look up to the cherry blossom
Whose fragrance it will spill
She may breathe it’s wonderment
And remember you perhaps
Lying in your earthly tomb
In the stillness that entraps
All spirits that have departed
And entered her domain
Will she cast a single thought
And share it with the rain
I cannot bear the moment
When my eyes close for I know
They never will re open
When then will I go
To number too possibly see her cottage
I do not want to be
Unable, to wait for her
And unable to see
Each moment that I thought of her
Brought such joy to my soul
To wait for her was lovely
And now I have lost that role
I lay here in the darkness
Unseeing, my thoughts gone
My soul will always be close to her
For she of course walks on
To greater things I am certain
Whilst I rot here and be
Supper to the creatures who come
Now to share me
And emerge into the sunshine
More revitalised
And may fly close to her cottage
Where I am now re sized
Able to still see her
A fly upon the wall
I know she will never harm me
For that was her basic rule
To love the goddesses creatures
And I still have that role
Lying here lost to the world
Now where be my soul?
Invisible to her eyes
But each Samhain maybe she
Will feel my presence close to her
Where I need to be
Through the violet mists of time
I wait, I hope, I do
Wait for her I shall wait for her
And remain forever
true
She admitted she had never come
She would never wait for me
I realised that it was unrequieted love
And it would be
That of course for ever
I knew that of course, I
Knew that but forever in this dark sod
I would lie
And I never will forget her
Those eyes, that sable hair
I never will forget her
I always will be there
Protecting her
And supporting her
And loving her, For I
Never ever will forget her
And now unseen I cry
