Beltane the Druidic experience

The rain held off
The sky so blue
Though the grey clouds
In the distance grew

The wind created music where
Branches glistened in the air
The circle came together well
The Druids ritual
The magic spell

Beltane opened to the soul
Of the ancestors who took the roll
Out yonder fields of gold drew eyes
Subtle greens and butterflies

Skipped and played
On mole hill downs
The battle royal
The May Queens gowns

Head dresses and cloaks displayed
Staff’s and violet colours weighed
Into the scenic glories here
Roll Rights, where all else appear

The whispering knights perplex us all
The maypole dance the ribbons school
The myriad colours seemingly
Gather us up and help us see

From far off places around the world
The Druidic feelings all were hurled
They came together inviting cheer
Intoxicating the people here

A fascination clearly grew
Kindling the spirits who
Enthused us all to exhilarate
To restore ourselves to invigorate

Each other,and to realise
The inspiration from the skies
Soul subduing humbling though
As the sorcery began to grow

We all held hands and shouted Ho
Breathlessly we all could know
The rapture and the animation
The excitement pitch was our creation

Beltane saw the whispering knights
Drive themselves to greater heights
Encouraging the avid throng
To rise up and to sing their song

An army really of one voice
Brought together out of choice
Exulted by the will to be
Enraptured by its symphony

Such fulfilment of merry making
A blithe spirit and undertaking
Blissful blessed brought to be
In Beltane’s gladsome harmony

Dear Veronica and her splendid
Team of lovely friends who created for us
All a place
In which we felt cocooned, where gentleness and compassion
For each other and the environment, was shared

Thank you and blessed be.
