Why does it surprise us

It comes as no surprise to me
That Fukushima does
Affect the foods in our market place
Already of course they buzz

With strontium and caesium
The radiation is here
The Japanese are lying
For me it’s ultra clear

The earthquake and Tsunami
Destroyed the nuclear plant
And radiation went everywhere
But governments just can’t

STOP this bloody madness
Supporting nuclear power
Building the plants in earthquake zones
And they are still doing this now

It actually makes no sense at all
A child could tell them that
But pumped up politicians
Just thinks that’s old hat

Someone’s getting kickbacks
Or they don’t bloody care
And then the liars step up and we
Have to be aware

Foods produced in Fukushima
Are labelled as from Tokyo
That is what they are doing
And what have we to show

The Pacific is radio active
The fish well what to do
To eat them would be madness
So now it’s down to you

The environment is suffering
The animals are too
Families right across the world
Don’t know what to do

The food is bloody well sparking
Cancers rife of course
Nuclear power is killing us
Of course it is the source

And the contamination
Is forever thats the thing
Your children and their children and their children
It will bring

terrible catastrophes
That’s the risk that’s there
And it can’t be insured against
Are you all aware?

We could rise up and stop this
But what we tend to do
Is go and watch a football match
Or spend more time in the loo

We throw our hands up merrily
And vote them in for we
Believe we have no power at all
Which seems obvious to me

As for Fukushima the Japanese have lied
TEPCO and the others they have just denied
Everything and what we see is thyroid cancer rising
We are eating radioactive food
So why is that surprising!
