A lovely meal at the George111

George111

It was just the other day

I visited the George the third

Situated in Penmaen Pool

A pub and Restaurant

A good word

salad kind of evening

On the road the A493

An idyll and the finest vista

On the amazing estuary

Once a pub and chandlers yard

Centuries ago

When Welsh Hill Farmers rambled

And slate quarrymen you know

Struggled hard

and diligently

Took in land and sea

The wondrous hills and  mountains

And the Mawddach constancy

Gwynedd and the junction pool

Where salmon and sea trout, be

Bass and brown trout

The wooden toll bridge

And Robinsons close to the sea

A comfortable dinner date

Some vegan choices where deer antler lighting

And the wooden floors true history

I live three or so miles away

Dolgellau it is where

Most days I pen my sonnets

For the world at  large to share

A vegan meal apparently

And the history between your walls

Root an Beet Burger and triple cooked chips

Some lovely berry cider

and some delightful sips

A balladry of significance

With the drama of this place

Everything was perfect

Antiquity and grace

The floor boards hewn by ancient wheels

The staff calm and on par

An episodic evening

Where the good cook was the  star

Thank you Robinsons for making it all possible.
