A view from the table

The polar bear Hotel
In Heilongjiang it is where they
Become the main attraction
For visitors who stay
At this hotel in Harbin
Where artificial ice
And pools are built
Such ignorance
Clearly no advice
Was sought before the
Unwitting senseless picture
The height of absurdity
A work of utter folly
These bears should all be free

Prisoners to entertain
Hotel guests we hear
How so idiotic
To me its very clear
Wild animals should never be
Abused in such a way
Created atmospherically
As a living display

Clearly unsound minds
Offered up
A zoo like sad display
Locked up inside a glass cell
That can never be a way
Its a derangement of designers
Towards the wild souls who
All feel persecuted
As they would expect to do

People staring at them
A neurosis would appear
Being constantly stared at
Bewilderment and fear
Its maddening and frightful
Resigned to it each day
The bafflement of such a stance
There really is no way

That anything more positive
Can come from this idea
Its meaningless and nonsensical
Making wild souls fear
It really is injustice
Its unflattering and wrong
Inside a hotel after all
Wild bears do not belong

Being powerful and energetic
Cogent and inspired
A willingness to be pliant
To be stared at, they hot wired
Out of the environment
Their instinctive memory
And the need for their true prowess
And responsibility

Lost in a confusion
Dismissed out of hand
So unmotivated
No protocol at all
An artificial area
Surrounded by a wall

Purely triviality
A plaything for the eyes
Really insignificant
Thats about the size
All the inactivity
And listlessness would be
Prone to sleep and heaviness
And lasting lethargy.
