Okavango’s tears are apparent already

Okavango’s wildness hurts
Recon Africa Energy skirts
The wondrous land of fertile worth
Part of what is Gods rich earth
Namibia and Botswana they
Apparently are prepared to play
Ball with Houston
And a fracking man
Called Ricky Steensberger
Who has a plan

To take this wilderness
vibrant and green
Teeming with wildness
Where Its always been
Home to the animals
And now to be
where drilling
For oil and gas
could free

The wildness
just strip it away
And in its place
great drills
An array
of pulling loads and drilling pipes
Seismic testing gives me the gripes
White bellied vultures and pangolins
And really all the destructive sins

Its coming lets warn the elephants
The painted dogs them too
They promise to bugger
the whole place up
To completely
take out the view
A bunch of crackpots
from across the sea
Going to do their thing
The politicians
rubbing their hands
With the gelt its going to bring

Remhold Manganou activist
Stands proudly in the sun
Take your drills and Just sod off
Thats what he has done
Took it upon himself to cry
To take each animals back
Bloody grey suits everywhere
Cant wait to attack

When the “yellowstone”
Docked at Walvis Bay
Covid had took the lead
Nobody noticed the massive great trucks
That would soon roll across and woukd bleed
The soul right out of Africa
Rips up the fertile loam
Frighten the elephante
Scare them all
Out of their long term home

God had provided long before
A watering hole and lots lots more
Plenty of food for the animals
And Happiness galore
But Namibia and Botswana
Some riches in the bag
Waiting to claw back income
In the knowledge that the flag

Would fly high over the oil fields
Where profit was to be
Coming out of the ground in barrels
Good and rich it would be
Migratory routes
The Omatako River wetlands where
Again a lot of the countries wealth
Was actually thriving there

Africa rich in wildlife
Preparing to say good bye
Switching the need to oil and gas
Giving energy a try
Goodbye to the living sanctuaries
To the birdlife and the soul
Of Africa the choice is now
Whose going to take control.
