Traps

Ensnaring and trapping
I hear is on the rise
The pandemic has got people
Who realise
With the drop off in tourism
Locals agree
They need to go hunting
And trap constantly

It is very easy
These days to procure
Traps and wild baiting
And the specialist lure
Walmart and Home Depot
Fleming all do
A wide range of traps
And Amazon does too

The global pandemic
Has opened the way
For trappers and poachers
To go on their way
Not so many rangers
Policing the scene
So leave traps about
Which is really obscene

Wild souls are caught up
and die bleeding out
In Uganda and elsewhere
There is no doubt
Locals Re leaving these traps
Everywhere
And wild souls are dying
In utter despair

7 giraffes found in just one day
It’s Really insidious
That they should pay
Left by these amateurs
Heartless they be
And not even going back
A tragedy

National Parks too are facing the awe
All kinds of animals
It is a war
Fools out there planting them
As asinine
And all unenlightened
So bound to malign

Everyone everywhere
Talentless souls
Incompetent hero’s
In uncertain roles
Bush meat is free
Plenty of choice
It’s very distressing
When you haven’t a voice
