A poisoning in India

Scant respect for wild life
In India today
Another two elephants murdered
By poisoning they say
Elephants came to drink
And someone laced the pond
With a deadly poison
Where really is the bond

Of care for the Gifted elephants
A pregnant lady too
Drinking for her infant
Wrongness does ensue
No shame just impropriety
Wrongheadedness and guilt
God given water poisoned
More innocent blood was spilt

India can hang its head
News flys around the world
How culpable how unfitting
These poor souls were hurled
Into the sinful village
Ganeshpur we hear
Near the Surajpur forest
Really it is clear

India is going through
A sinister time and we
Cannot forging the cruelty
And the savagery
Three beautiful creatures
Murdered by a selfish violent man
And no doubt there will be others
A really unpardonable plan

Clearly there is an arrogance
And a madness in the air
You should be celebrating
To have elephants who share
Your country the grandest land animals
That Ganesh has gifted you
And all you punks are capable of
Is doing what you do

Ungrateful nasty buts of work
Presumptive flippant fools
That poison will kill others
You have broken all the rules
Unsuspecting wild life from birds to
Mammals they
Come to drink gods water
And you try to make them pay
