Dairy farms are costing the earth

New Zealand like so many places
Realises they
Have to watch their greenhouse gas emissions
Which now play
A big part in the catastrophe
That is causing climate change
And dairy cows are costly
Right across the range

On the Aupouri Peninsular
Dairies are thinking to
Sell their farms to Avocado production
Which will do
A lot of good things really
It’s a crop that does do well
And world wide is appreciated
As far as I can tell

It’s rich in fatty acids
And potassium and grows
Well and there’s a market
And everybody knows
At present dairy cows
Amount to 4.8 million or so
Burping farting water guzzlers
Costly really so
Environmentally speaking
It makes a lot of sense
As less people want to
Indulge in bovine milk
And to commence
With plant milks which are
Commonplace and popular today
So it’s altogether a good idea
To try to do away

With the dairy
With the rape racks
And the kidnapping we see
The murdering of baby calves
The extended cruelty
The use of antibiotics and hormones
Everywhere
And because they guzzle water
Again we all must share

A lot of responsibility
Humans after all
As babies we are altricial
And really that’s so cool
Ungulates are precocial
They are born
And they can see
They can walk
They need their mothers milk
But are not like you and me

The dairy has been telling fibs
For many many years
Had the brontosaurus been around
Cows would be in tears
Nobody would be drinking their milk
For asxwe know
It’s all about the profit
And the margin that does grow

In all it is a great idea
To stop this dairy thing
It is very unhealthy
Hearts out there will ring
The changes and cholesterols
Will diminish by the day
However much you look at this
We are not cows so no way

Should we be using cows milk
It’s alien and we
Have also been causing global degradation
Actually
So good luck to all these farmers
Who have clearly seen the light
They are giving up the dairy
and putting the ground to right.
