Verdant equinox

There is a greyness about the sky today
A sleety tear or two
A great big bumble comes to drink
The Rosemary, a few
Accompany him their swirling wings
Buzzing through each day
Tasting the yellow of April
With their gentle sway

Day and night are much the same
Tis when the jasmine rests
Tied up in a woody state
Jack frost out there tests
The true resolve of wanderers
That come to the see the sun
Fighting through the clouds
To shine before the day is done

Grape hyacinths and the crocus
Hordes, test their colour schemes
The early buds are moving slowly
As are peoples dreams
A stillness operates across
The fields into today
The ROLL RIGHT stones now watch
The moles surface and do play

Unwinding are the stories
Of faery folk who dance
Pulsating and the drumming
Each throb of certain chance
The trees with dormant ivy
Clasp each other so
The ritual of the moment
That the Cotswold group bestow

Come hither gentle friends
Come join our vital ring
The circle and the portals
Certainly do bring
All of us together
The warmth it does transpose
To hold the hand of a lady friend
And appreciate she grows

Ever close beside you
Her heart beats as does yours
To look into her windswept eyes
And understand the cause
Of why you need her close to you
Of why she is your queen
Of how you will so miss her
That she couldn’t have been

With you this afternoon
