Brian cox knows you know but so do I

Is it any wonder
That we are all alone
No little green men in their saucers left
On some digital phone

No serpents with vast cerebellums
And purple eyes who see
With multi faceted telescopes
Even you and me

Only human beings
Like us could there ever be
Professor cox he knows this
Through each galaxy

The green men and the red men
And the Amazonian blues
Who bounce about like avatars
All we must refuse

To ever contemplate they ever existed
At any time
No extraterrestrial long necked
Beauties
That up trees do climb

We are the only intelligence
That ever there has been
Who go about with atomic bombs
And worship the machine

Who frack the life out of the earth
And pollute all around
Who know they need pure water
But poison it in the ground

Who tear down tracts of forest and install concrete cows
Who build our buildings higher
And then smash down the towers

And blame the Arab infidels
For knocking them when we
Did it all our bloody selves
To put fear up the free

The victims those who won’t pipe down
The whistleblowers who
Get holed up in some embassies
Whilst the goons do what they do

Destroy the natural jungle and kill animals at will
Spread disease and vaccinate
Here’s another pill

Why we have no other forms of life
Like us around
In the galaxies beyond ours
I tell you what they have found

Loving caring quieter folk
Who just keep well away
Hiding in their utopia’s
Thats what others say
