Dry skin in the palm of our hand

the conceit of all this growing

is measured by the way

the balance sheet is showing

the profits of dismay

the ideality of reasoning

the invention of a need

the corporate understanding

and just where that does lead

the disregard of environments

the abandonment of the whole

complete discrimination

of every living soul

enlightenment and insight

was there for all to feel

but profit was the motive

the rest they did conceal

an ignorance of nature

and how it came to be

unidentified and unclassified

unchartered actually

the sanity of all of this

lost in the mists of time

a prophecy of danger

threatening the line

a courier may have come forth

affirming what we thought

the forest was an army

and in its midst we caught

wind of ugly goings on

the chain saw and the rest

the violence that came with it all

the poet does detest

it was exaggeration

prevarication too

most were disingenuous

what they were going to do

insidious behaviour

guileful in a way

that tore the heart out of the forest

and then went on their way

the light had left

the water not precious anymore

the jungle was a tangle

and the litter on the floor

rich with leaves all rotting

composting to create

a medium of life thereafter

which was really great

but skulduggery was evident

there were profits to be made

we kind of all were ambushed

by the Palm oil Trade

cheap as chips and high yields

duped so many were

defrauded by the tricksters

who didn’t even stir

the forest took a beating

the trees were soon torn down

their pungency and forcefulness

enthused into the down

a crushing really vivid

a vulgarity in fact

as the history of growing

showed how we should react

the elegance and dignity

gave way for dark  excess

the oil palm brought its shadows

but no one dared confess

they just had to be resolute

for profits were to be

rising like the froth on wort

that seldom people see

a wickedness aforethought

many souls would die

the orangutan the tapir

the tiger followed by

the elephant and others

even the chimpanzee

across the many continents

where the palm oil could be

destructive to the forests

distressing to us all

we got the ultimatum

our backs against the wall

they lied to us by telling us

the oil was good and true

infact it was their profits

and their pursuit of it all through

and now so many victims

including might I say

the indigenous and the others

who see the light of day

the corporates have counted

and extended useage to

almost every path thats known

to man including you

it has been instrumental

in destruction everywhere

the life and soul is lost I think

and we have such despair

the natural euilibrium

was just gambled away

of very great importance

to those players I should say
