A greyhound has its ears cut off to minimise risk of being traced after abandonment

A former racing dog
has been mutilated
the reason for this
evil, apparently
so it could be abandoned and nobody
could trace it back to its owner
the sick shit decided he
could cut the poor dogs ears off
it would be the natural answer
the identifying marks would then be gone
showing us where they were at
showing us the mentality
my god the torture just goes
and they just don’t even bat

greyhounds have to make it
on the circuit
if they do not
hack it then they die
its no good paying out in food and water
and see it romp in last
and this is why

everything appears to come down squarely
to money to the making of it
and
getting shot of the animals in this
easiest possible way
its violent and its cruel
but they understand

to do this to an animal
is savage, its barbaric
all that pain
it just must be enormous
sliced off with some knife
it just does not bear thinking about
I mean this is a life

a loyal supporter trying
to run and win for you
but since it never turned out right
what it has to do
is lose its ears completely
and be put out on the street
imagine what goes through its mind
it must just so unseat

its psyche and its feelings
that’s its owner did such a thing
coolly sliced its ears off
that could really bring
the worst in someone clearly
this hound was able to
live with it and carry on
not an easy thing to do

whoever did this has to be
caught and put away
they cannot walk the streets again
they really have to pay
that dog will never recover
from the pain it has inside
and whoever did this
really he must have no place to hide
