Slash and Burn and Palm oil Corporates

The forests are the Planet’s lungs
that clear the air and balance all
its chock a block with myriad souls
it drives me up the wall!
medicinal plants safeguarding top soil
and beyond
trillions of tiny insect hordes
make up what is a bond

and its awash with reptiles
with birds and primates too
this is the living planet
diversified for you
storing up its energy
building on success
till along came all of those
corporates who created all this mess

and all that grows
is torn a’sunder
ripped apart
slashed and burned
killed the boundless creatures
each one of them was spurned
it was once a green explosion
of life force and desire
and they turned it into
shadow land drenched in smoke and fire

in places where the indigenous
had lived their lives for years
had cultivated jungle gardens
with blood and sweat and tears
all of them were brutalized
told to go away
the women raped some men were killed
their land taken away

Palm oil those plantations
that creep into the sphere
they steal the sunlight from the land
replacing it with fear
encouraging the pestilence
the rats the cobras too
to be attracted by the palm oil
the kernal’s soon on view

the tangle of untidiness
where before forests of green
living breathing oxygenating
that is what had been
there for many centuries
now the slash and burn
had turned the fresh sweet air
into a smog and much concern

the black smoke, the particulates
drifted on the sky
and settled over Malaysia
and Singapore and why
that set of corporate criminals
laying down their worth
building up their profits
destroying mother earth

murdering the Orangutans
and other primates too
the trees are torn down
and replaced by the palm
the mono crew
that attracts the darkest embrace
stretching far across the land
nothing wants to grow there
for the light was never planned

the huge great leaves cut out the pathways
and we see just shade
the biosphere is sobbing
for really they’ve put paid
to the truly living forest
to the energy of life
and replaced it with the abyss
of sin
an imbalanced world of strife

a morass out of the forest
where once the creatures ran
its was based on corporate margins
this evil it began
what was a living entity
a miracle of time
and now we have a ragged glimpse
of what is doom and slime

the supermarkets own brands
are pulling in this stuff
its now in every product
they cannot get enough
its cheap and highly profitable
for low wages there’s no doubt
so the corporate make the profit
and the planet loses out

we must all, ban this palm oil
check out our labels, we
can really make a difference
we can tell them actually
we will boycott palm oil products
if they carry on like this
destroying the precious jungles
that once gave life to bliss
