Malaysia’s long tailed macaque’s and their problem with the Government

The problem is the people
not the monkeys
forest dwellers watch
from off their trees
and villagers encroach
now almost daily
and so they come
into contact regularly

they have long tails and tourists
are so curious
they feed them
which encourages them to come
and so they come
and make themselves a nuisance
and finally people are banging on their drum

about how they are causing people hassle
knocking over dustbins everyday
playing about with rubbish
stealing from open windows
they are wild and curious
and complaints seem to be growing
come what may

the government of course they get
frustrated they don’t have unlimited funds
and so they jump
kill the monkeys that is the predicament
and so they all go shooting
and they dump
thousands
last yeat 97,000
now that’s a lot of families
who might face
grief from having lost
one of their family
and that class of paradigm
is a disgrace

to re create a monkey
is impossible
but that does not stop them
from the killing spree
its easy just to kill a group of monkeys
than the rigmarole
of teaching them to be
thoughtful caring sensible about it all
but death is easy
so why not actually

I tell you why not
because each soul you murder
is another murder that is on your mind
each one was created for a purpose
and it wasn’t so that you
could get behind
them and throw rocks
and shoot at them
at will
encroachment is the most terrible
things around
we have to learn to share
and to be aware
of environmental damage
and understand

bodies in the jungle have been
noticed riddled with the
gun fire of the craze
murdering a species
that appears so very friendly
well they should now see
the error of their ways

I do feel for these primates
because governments
like everywhere
employs a lot of fools
people who are not particularly with it
and just don’t understand
that nature calls

the forests should be full
of wondrous wild life
each to their own
not leave the forests bare
this animal draws tourists
to the areas
and tourists being in money
be aware

if countries take out wild life
as they are doing
there will bw no point coming
there at all
the infra structure is
also playing havoc
with wild life
there must be a cessation
and a rule

that prohibits
any monkey getting slaughtered
that protects them
and appreciates their lot
housing them in forests
in amongst the trees
not encouraging them
to rifle through the dustbins
on their knees
