Breaking an animals spirit
a child of the wild
so to say
to me doesn’t do anything
for us humans
how on earth
can this be a way

of encouraging tigers to soften
it would rile and frustrate
any soul
be ridiculed
taunted in front of a crowd
de clawed so as to be
lost in a cloud
of doom let us say
no teeth to bite
one’s armoury lost
in what once was the light

now its not burning bright
Blake if he saw
what we are now seeing
he I am sure would abhor
like I do the treatment
of ignorant sods
bully no tactics
aimed at these gods
these wonderful souls
from the great jungles where
they once ruled in earnest
but now find despair
