The Sioux

They came with their rifles
Their forts and their wagon trains
In search of a new life
so paramount for
whole families moved
into our land and they took it
by force, using guns
many guns and of course

we were the savages
we rode without saddles
in tune with Nature
Protestors were we
Nobody owned the great lands
we all share
We were the Sioux
a great tribe actually

We lived in our teepees
We hunted the Bison
We lived off the land
our desire very small
Our weapons we made
fleet of foot we were ready
to die for our cause
yes one and all

The white man was arrogant
and he was ignorant
no realisation of what
the great Sioux
Had done for this nation
such great expectation
the eagle sees much
from the great height it flew
