The street lamps go red
before amber it seems
twilight is with us
around here the screams
of owls haunt the night
with their eerie refrain
as I wander through Ash ridge
my heart full of pain
,
I called her
but she never answered, and I
felt a tear burst
out from my left eye
and roll like an avalanche
onto my chin
she had rejected me
and now my skin
was cold, it was icy
the tear froze as well
my heart it was broken
with nothing to tell
I tripped over roots
over grass over earth
knowing deep down
that somewhere on this earth
I would push up the daisies
and keep them aloft
aware that I loved her
her skin was so soft
her lips were so healthy
her eyes were so brown
and her hair turned me on
flowing over her gown
those sleeves were all flowing
I never could be
anything else but with her
Miss C
she mean’t the world to me
and now I would go
where the deer’s rest the night out
away from the snow
waiting, there quietly
I now feel so free
with her beside me
through infinity
