of the dairy that became our home but from which we never ever did roam

Heads down blood pouring
onto the floor
eyes closing
thoughts of blood and gore
the life we had lived
in a terrible place
raped we were raped
and milked the disgrace
was our calves they were
taken away from our side
our maternal affection
of course you denied
our love for our offspring
your arrogance led
you to take them away
and the males calves were dead
soon, very soon in some cases
we watched
as a farm hand stood on them
their killing he botched
we remember those cries
haunting cries
of a child
like a banshee from hell
incredibly wild
and now with our thoughts
we hang waiting death
as our throats have been cut
we are choking to death
a dairy cows life is as bitter
as hell
a dairy cows death
we both told that well
