Leaving Australia by another door

Angela looked dapper
in her dim sum basket hat
such spiffing spontaneity
was about, where we were at
Flying on a jet plane
the consequences dire
having come to Australia
to experience the fire
clearly in that moment
I preferred to be abroad
it had dawned on me, it was crazy
like,
a, double edged sword
to stay, to leave
both options
came at quite a cost
stepping on the plane
I really did
feel lost
and nobody would find me
like “Neo” on the train
on a, parallel universe
in the pouring rain
nobody knew that I was there
So nobody would really care
about what was my love affair
with Australia
and what
I found there
