Husbandry or Science I know what I think

Remember Cows are ungulates
They need to chew the cud
They have, several stomachs
So as to enrich blood
Self medication by the long
established instinct route
Doth imbue them with a vast array
of medicaments that suit

Domesticating wild folk
and managing them, we
lose their ancient wisdom
and our vital husbandry
They had an inborn tendency
without the need for thought
Which is far away the safest form
of medicament and ought
To be the guiding princple
in the armoury of life
To enhance a creatures being
and ward off ill and strife.

We must understand out in the fields
There are medicines galore
Chickweed, Dandelion and Clover
knocking on the door
Cleavers, many variants
tried and tested by
The wild folk all these centuries
and clearly this is why.

Factory farming doesn’t work
Its all pie in the sky
The Pharmaceutical Companies
Clearly they know why
have moved themselves onto the scene
its profit all the way
Now there are few fields of green
To complicate the day.

Disease is rife and ignorance
is something we all see
We all become stakeholders
in a sea of cruelty.
The Veterinary another
human expert on their case
armed with pharmaceuticals
Yet another interface

that clouds
the natural picture which their
instinct did provide
The management of wild folk
I just cannot abide
Overpowering instinct is an
arrogance that, we
Seem to do all of our lives
the freedom to be free.

and use their in built knowledge
from creativeness itself
and realise its is far removed
from our jollop on the shelf.
Animals appreciate their surroundings
Sentients as they feel, they know, they care
To be kept out in the sunshine, the rain
the light the dark
and be allowed to breathe
the cool fresh air

is tantamount to managing a species
Cruelty or imposing our ideals
on ungulates and others who now serve us
In a sickly state which I do think reveals
With all our bright and varied new technology
We cannot hold a candle to their way
Science has consumed their natural wisdom
And their health is in period of decay

The noble art of engaging the wild folk
crucially and developing a bond to try
To respond to their predicament whatever that might be
Than impose our lustful methods which is why
The present TB outbreaks and so many more
are now raising their profile overcoming natural law
Husbandry has been swallowed up by Science
The aggrochemical industry now rules
Psychology and a true sense of well being
Is in the hands of a massive band of fools

The ungulates are mere pawns as are farmers
Its all about production sadly, we
Have sacrificed the wild folk for more margin
They have completely lost identity
And for this mankind must hang its head
for really.
the wild folk of the field have been destroyed
A living, breathing, caring,, feeling sentient
is part machine and wholly paranoid
