France has banned
Hydraulic Fractoring
just last year,
Weighed the pro’s and con’s
and decided
that the fear
Of Earthquakes, of pollution
of migration of gas
Waste and it’s mishandling
and methane leaks enmasse
Air emissions, greenhouse gases
Contamination too
Of ground water was clearly
perturbed at what it could do
Added radiation and waste of
a resource
Up to 60,000 gallons of water
thats a force
which would become
contaminated
not a great idea
and likely to cause degradation
of environments and fear.
The Uk has been doing it
in Lancashire,
and earthquakes did occur
and its been said
That the fracking did cause earthquakes
and environmental degradation
and very clearly that seems
to have led
To quite a lot of Public altercation
of fear and to this end it seems to me
Fracking is a fracking risk
and like France we should say
The Corporates can go to hell
Which they will anyway.
But of course abroad
America and Canada
and recently
Australia believe
Its something they can all afford
and so they rush ahead
Private land has been affected
and again its led
To such a public outcry
But the Public are no force
Against the great big Corporates
and the Government of course
Corporate wealth is afterall the key here
Governments depend on contributions and
People living around about suffering
calamity the Government just do not understand
Contamination yes of course its happened
Private lakes are dead and land is bad
Arsenic and a lot of other nasties
are now apparent which of course is sad
Up to 5 million gallons of fresh water
are used in every bore hole
I have seen
and this comes back as polluted
waste
a costly problem to be faced
I’m sorry Sod the Corporate machine!
In our world where water shortage springs to mind
To waste it and pollute it in this way
is tantamount to criminal on hair brained schemes that really should n’t have seen the light of day
It devastates and causes such upheaval
To the subterranean reservoirs below
5000-20,000 feet I understand
Though microsiesmic monitoring will grow
Still the earthquake problem ought to tell us
That what we’re doing isn’t right at all
But of course where there is money to be
had whatever risks
The corporate machine is on the ball
Then of course there are radioactive proppants
Sand is one and ceramics too they use
Its not the great technology they would have us think
To me this precious earth we all abuse
Maybe it captures gas or oil but as a general rule
We must understand the dangers
and the risk to one and all.
