Digging for dinner

Under a blazing sunTwo lasses satDigging out roots

knowing where  they were at

The Cossid moth

grubs

big juicy souls

wriggling quietly

each having roles

of juicy expression

witchitty grubs
digging and digging

under the shrubs

a fine Lepidoptera
squeezed,  out of a stalk

eaten raw or baked dry

watch the soul walk

sort of peanut buttery with a

fishy taste

jolly bush tucker
their table be graced

carry on digging

goanna  be true
Grabbed in its burrow

and cooked how you do

squeeze out its guts

its remnants and bake

bash it to smithereens

for nobody sake

burnt in the embers A lizard cake

Makes a fine picnic

It’s give and take

from the sandy red soil

where the tall grasses be.

asleep in its burrow

Deep down Come  and see
