The Shard at London Bridge

Renzio Piano
clearly
took his gift
and he
designed
something creating
true perpetuity
it stands proud on the skyline
its wondrous shards of glass
and peers across all London
really it is class
the Thames rolls ever onwards
the railway lines do too
an eye born panorama
created there for you

every tiny aspect
brought to focus here
the height
the light
its all seemed right
and the day today was clear
the staff were extra special
Samuel he was great
worthy of a bonus
and a better hourly rate
unique his usp for you
so indebted, are we
his customer service excellent
he served us wonderfully

helped us park our blue badge status
he was the king of kings
curiously a lovely soul
an angel and he brings
a lot of verve to service
at the shard for us today
everything was beautiful
your training clearly way
above the other venues
and the naturalness of view
panoramic paintings
cloud info grey and blue

London Bridge sprang outward
Guys hospital, close by
a skyline to be valued
the sprawl good on the eye
the Thames its olivaceous
tendency was there
affected by the sunlight
and the shade
a scene so rare

meandering around the vital landscapes
on its way
to meet up with the channel
on another sunny day
great shards of glass sweep upwards
an unfinished symphony
the air creates a charge
of what is noticable
nervous energy

a chill provides the understanding
elements that feel
we’re reaching up into the clouds
and we are there for real
out across the vast expanse
of buildings, parks and trees
watching silvery sunlight
how its spiritedly did please

our eyes, for we saw aura’s of splendour
it was there
the scale was really marvellous
as if like birds we share
upwards on majestic wings
we stood in awe
our breathing our bodies
all aglow
sucking in that mystery
that came from down below

up here in the heavens
we see some better times
around us and before us
like Romeo his climbs
long before us humans
that wild fox did his thing
left his den in London Town
and roamed upon the wing
the shard provides a multifarious
objectivity
it gives us a perspective
a feeling constantly
its lightness thrusts inexorably
it really does hold sway
the Shard is one such building
whose view is here to stay
