“Pebbles”

A Shih Tzu dog was found in Detroit
Looking The worse for wear
So matted up with pure neglect
That all that luxurious hair
Had tightened and the poor dog
Was unable to walk
No fleas it seems
But basically they hadn’t walked it’s talk

Months it seems of true neglect
No grooming sadly for
This pooch who seemed exhausted
And wanting for more
Back at the vets
The clear need was to
Get some of the mat
Off her legs and body
And that very much was that

We called her “pebbles”
Don’t ask me why
And eventually we
Sedated her and cut most of the matting
And shaved her she
When she came around
Stayed pretty quiet
And seemingly as we
shaved the last remaining hair
Her body we could see
She wasn’t thin
Or emaciated so hadn’t been out long
For me she might just have been dumped
Because she wasn’t strong

She couldn’t walk she couldnt fly
So seemingly they must
Have dumped her and just driven off
In a cloud of dust

These kind of individuals
With an expensive dog
Presumably neglected her
Clearly not a cog
In someone’s life apparently
So rejected out of care
Thankfully we found her
And our new home she can share
