“Puffin”

We found him
just lying motionless
A pool of blood by his side
Covered with one of our blankets
His obvious wounds for to hide
Carried him back to the ambulance
When we got back
There he lay
Apparently taking his final breaths
On this earth it was thought
Our dismay
We sedated him cleaned and we bandaged
Reducing the swelling
Day three
He actually then regained
Consciousness
But slept several day
Which was key
We loved him we cared for him
Gently we stroked him
Kissed him cuddled him
He had seemingly never been
Loved Or cared for before
And responded so dramatically

Now he loves playing out
In the sunshine
He responded and bonded
His glee
Is contagious
And everyone loves him
It’s a feelin
Just lovely to see
