When Ben came in
He was in a cage
Couldn’t walk
Hard to gauge
Any movement
He did cry
And Fairly soon
I think would die
Left outside in the street
Really all that dust and heat
All those injuries
All that time
Blood and fester
Thus this rhyme
Animal aid Unlimited came
To be the angels
The very same
Sari clad and trousers too
All with aching hearts
Anew.
Ben was injured very badly
The wire had cut into him sadly
Through his hind quarters did go
And it hurt so much I know
He was sedated so they could clean
Remove the wire from his body lean
Lots of blood and gore we saw
And one muscle had grown even more
He was almost cut in two
So much pain poor boy the view
Was taken to clean and sluice the place
Put the dressings on in case
Watch him begin to run about
Wag his tail be in no doubt
Scarred by the buoyant
And playful he
Proved his spirit would then see
A new dimension anyway
Peace and kindness he would say
Mediation every time
