Judgement Day for Morgan the wild Orca

Morgan’s judgement
has come through
the judges all have said
Morgan can stay where he is
until of course he’s dead
he is a big wild orca
languishing alas
in a Canary Islands
Amusement Park
and despite the mass
of people who objected
the judge in Amsterdam
rejected all proposals
of release as one big sham

The world is devastated
the ruling means that he
will live what life is left
and not go back into the sea
Loro Parque on Tenerife
is to be, now where
he’ll join 5 other Orca’s
in a tank of some despair
a myriad attraction
an artificial tank
in the wild they thought
he would never cope
his survival was felt rank
its funny how the legal people
knowing so very little
of what its like to be
imprisoned regurgitating spittle
no contact with the outside world
just a static man made tank
where he’s able to to sell tickets
for the show and for the bank

concrete isn’t sand nor ocean
it is a dead place
live foods are not available
to me its a disgrace
and a step to far for Morgan
the Orca who must be
kept inside this concrete tank
for all eternity
The judges I recall were dressed
in black and white clearly
they thought to give a smidgeon of respect
significantly
but really in my minds eye
once again we see
the corporate world make money
from the wild folk of the sea
