At The best of times live animals
As stock items in zoo’s
Are dele da t on the footfall
And zoo’s can be bad news
For the animals who live there
Taken from the wild
Thrust into the prison
Seemingly self styled
Freedom they had freedom
And it’s all taken away
A zoom is just a prison
On any given day
Food is rarely foraged
It’s bought I. and it does
Depend on customers coming
That regular tell tale buzz
Of people buying tickets
And if sad,y there’s few
Then the animals they suffer
A problem that’s not new
Taken from their habitat
From their family
From their place
And dumped in a small cage
It’s really a disgrace
Animals are weary
Locked up in a cage
Take away their freedom
And boy do they soon age
Fed on frozen foods
Thrown in to their space
Life for the Sedentary
Really a snails pace
The thought of being locked up
Every single day
Angels become criminals
And so much they pay
There is no lateral thinking
There is no living soul
To where the sit on concrete
In a concrete hole
There is no family contact
it’s a concrete gaol
Bars all around
And a concrete pad
No one to hear you howl
Having the awareness of life
And what you miss
Sitting twiddling your paws
Completely lacking bliss
The zoo is rich witH ignorance
Little is known about you
They are just unenlightened
Bewildered that’s my view
There is no stimulation
No guidance from above
No feeling of a partner
Or anyone you love
A zoo is just a prison
Where human being go
The absurdity of being
A regular picture show
Senselessly regarded
As something to stare at you
Lose your right to be alone
And do what you want to do
Your mental balance is countenanced
By people who want to see
You doing things
And they throw food at you
It messes with your Qi
Chocolate bars
