Destiny

A spider
walks on 8 legs
imagine that
and be
respectful of
a creature
with such
spontaneity
we have only 2 legs
and problems
sometimes too
I can’t imagine
how a spider does
what spiders do

its brain has to be
tiny
and yet it still controls
its legs
and its a builder
of webs
a clever soul
sustainably adjusted
with silks on which
to weave
very minute thickness
with a strength
you cant believe

There is a lady spider
living in my room
with me
she’s really quite
enormous
as big as she can be
and I notice
she is capable
she can climb up any wall
and walk across the ceiling
I can’t, I would fall

I have named her
and I call her Destiny
she’s not like any other
I have seen
her legs are really long
her silks are really strong
her body elongated
and quite green

She only really peers
at me at midnight
after that some how
she disappears
there’s not so many places
that she can hide
her great long legs
but there is something about
her that endears

she must know I could squash her
just like that, I could
but I do not intend to
that’s for sure
but does she know that
that’s why I am curious
and why she scampers off across
the floor

I had the chance to have a real
good look at her
she came out of my printer
nice and slow
almost in slow motion
was she showing some emotion
again you see
there’s no way that I know

And she never goes back
to the same place
that she was the night before
she’s always somewhere
different
pretending, I ignore
I know she’s there
but do not look
that’s when she tends
to be
edging closer very subtle
movements actually

perhaps it is game she plays
wonderingly free
perhaps she’s really
curious and may even like me
or perhaps she hasn’t seen me
doesn’t know that I exist
that could account for her closeness
she’s right by my left wrist

The issue is something which too few people are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy I found this in my search for something relating to this.
