My final resting place

AGE creeps up on all of us
every day, we’re older
everyday the grave
Comes closer
that is what I told her
one day, I will say,
“Goodnight”
and that will be my
last
day on Earth
since my mum gave birth
That big die was cast
long ago the big man
in the sky
had seen to that
and now I am much weaker
And look better in a hat

my hair is silver grey now
thinning more each day
I have my share of wrinkles
I guess, that is the way
The eye bags they look heavy
My teeth are not as white
I move more like a Tortoise
than a Hare and so
Goodnight
That’s what I said
and that’s, what I mean’t
but laying there I knew
That if I peg out now
in my heart my dear
there’s YOU
You’ are smiling at me
I so, love YOUR face
from where people never come back from
My final resting place
