Survival may have seemed a problem
Caught up in it all
A filthy oily carpet
Which truthfully did appal
A precious little penguin
Who became overcome
His feathers all were matted
His little heart was numb
On a beach in Rio de Janeiro
He felt sad
And sick and so abnormal
And at that moment bad
Isolation took him
To another place and he
Couldn’t work out why the oil
Had been there
In actuality
The salt water was stinging
He couldn’t really see
The oil was really smelly
And choked him, he was free
But just could not make head nor tail
Of how he could fly away
Thats when he saw an old man
Coming to him who did say
Hello “dindin”who are you
Your tuxedo looks a mess
Let me take you home with me
And clean you I confess
You do look rather sorry for yourself
I have to say
Let me take you home with me
And clean all that oil away
So he picked the little penguin up
And took him home and he
Was ever so careful how he did it
But soon he was oil free
He fed him till he was stronger
And ready to go back wild
The bricklayer was gentle
Treated him like his child
And when he deemed him ready
Took him back down to the beach
And placed him in the water
A little out of reach
But the penguin wouldn’t leave him
So he went out in a boat
And dropped him in the ocean
And watched him swim and float
And now each year “dindin” comes back
All 8000 kilometres he
Makes the journey and kisses and cuddles
His friend across the sea
And then goes back to wherever
And that is what he does
Just to see his friend the bricklayer
And receive that buzz
He has the inclination
And was so bewitched to be
Part of this great storyline
This story of the sea
He didn’t take it likely
All those miles away
But wanted to see his darling friend
And really to him say
Love you man I love you
And I am so grateful to you
You took me and you saved me
Which nobody else would do
I really appreciate you
You are my blessing in disguise
And the only thing I want to do
Is see you with both my eyes.
Composed a tweet and sent it to the man who saves dindin
Telling him what a hero he was .
