Friends

Friends in trouble surely can
Pull tears out of us and what man
Does to animals tragically
Social media lets us see

A wired up mouth
To prevent a dog
Barking all the time
Communication is a needy tool
When negligence does climb

Into one’s true spectrum
It creates such awful fear
And not being able to communicate
Is, abundantly clear

A wired up mouth
Cuts into skin and bone
And wounds can be
Infected very simply
And the pain is terribly

Violent this is as much ignorance
And hatred too
an animal so cut about
And Not expected to pull through

But with love and true compassion
With empathy and joy
With the absolute degree of caring
Some just did employ

This poor souls wounds recovered
As did his spirit too
To re align his senses
Brought such worth a speeding through

Then to introduce him
To his friend
Where before they liked to play
And seeing them together
They could have never been away

Never gone through all that pain
And be cared for for so long
When they saw each other
There seemed just nothing wrong

A simple piece of paper
Just watch them as they run
Pure joy with each other playing
In the sun
All that terrible torture
That broke the spirit too
Just put on the back burner
As a positive tends to do

Love and true devotion
Compassion and empathy
Being wholly positive
In caring helped them through
This dog was awfully injured
Its spirit broken by
The cruelty he had suffered
But underneath the sky

With his friend and his comrade
The thoughts of yesteryear
Came flooding back to bring the joy
Of how friends are so near
And can so understand each other
And will give up so much
Respect is never far away
Even if, not in constant touch
