Born in Australia
Land of the sun
Off to Vietnam
Thats what they have done
Our lives are controlled
By men who believe
We are best suited
To bloody well leave
The land of our birth
The place where we be
In the big concrete shed
And go down to the sea
Thats their decision and we must go
In a truck what the fuck
To Freemantle and Lo
And behold shipment day
Trucked out of the place
Down the dusty roads
Such a disgrace
And now its so steamy
We are all thrown about
Being a cow leaves no one in doubt
Ready to load on a ship on the sea
Not on your nelly this trips not for me
A great leap of faith
From the dock to the sea
That was a shock
Twenty five feet easily
I hung in the air till I smashed into the sea
Now very aware
This is no place to be
To escape was my ploy
The water was cold
But i tried to leg it
Despite being sold
The very idea that Vietnam
Soon should be
The place of my death
Was abhorrent to me
But then I was caught and sent back
OMG how I suffered
A lot of flack
I was Bruised and was buffeted
Now back on the ship
Bound for Vietnam
And one hell of a trip
3 weeks on this tug
In this terrible hell
The heat and the fear
And this shit awful smell
The stormy sea crossing
The rocking we feel
The sickness the horror
It is all so real
vietnam dawns on us when we arrive
Discharged in our hundreds
Those that did survive
Many lay dead or dying for they
Gave up the ghost and just faded away
I was of good spirit
But I rapidly knew
That I came here to die here
The slaughterhouse grew
Close we could smell it
We could feel it, we knew
Soon it would be over
But there was nothing we could do
Forced through the gates
And into our face
Where huge great blue bottles
We all over the place
Great shaggy rats
The size of a dog
This was our death house
A detestable bog
Lots of short men with knives and great power
Dispatching so many of us every hour
Australia stinks
There is no empathy there
Just a bunch of convicts
Who reek of despair
They are cruel
They are crude
They are frighteningly so
Live exports from there
No one wants to know
