Zimbabwe shows its desperation
And its significant lack of soul
By selling 24 Elephant calves
To China, and their role
Will be to leave their wild place
Leave their mothers behind
And join the circus fraternity
The mindless underlined
They have also ordered 30 Lions
Regent felines who
Will leave their land called Afrika
All bound for China too
They will realise the hideousness
Of human financial gain
The defacement of so many lives
With this odious disdain
Ungraced and loathsome dealers
Villainously they show
Their countenance where necessity
Becomes no place to go
Stolen from their families
Made orphans with one sweep
Undignified and tasteless
The tawdry how they reap
Their fortune shipped across the sea
To where hopelessness will be
Part of life forever
in a time locked misery
Its alleged its conservation
But poor judgement it could be
more The point for China will not see
Them actually
In the light that africa imagines
These animals consigned to China’s circus
And alas its true zoology
Home grown ivory
Seemingly the order of the day
And Zimbabwe being pivotal
By blurring the lines I say
30 Lions more traditional Medicines
On line
Sacrificing animals
Home grown and by design
Whatever happens to them
Only time will tell
But tearing them from their mothers
Is placing them in hell
A baby needs its mother
Not a circus ring or zoo
Not a bull hook as its master
Which the circus tends to do
They trumpet in their cages
Prisoners of fear
Zimbabwe banks its money
And many shed a tear
For all the babies leaving
Africa today
And being sent around the world
To heighten their display
