We each are born of our mothers
In her fluids we perform
We warm to her affection
In the delicate world so warm
So caring for her compassion
She shares with us each hour
We are her single prodigy
Her purposeful sweet flower
Some go onto become an activist
With sweet searching eyes
With hearts as warm as they ever were
We are never in Disguise
We are open we are loving
And within us we need care
Others walk a different path
Their hearts they fail to share
They rarely care for others
For money grips their soul
They are easily led stray
And, take on that role
And so the other species
The other earthling tribe
That live beside us reckoning
That the spirit we imbibe
They have their own freedom
To walk the paths and they
Need to be protected too
And not be made to pay
The pope that great high figure
Recently came to see
Bosnia he came here left Rome
And certainly
Was entertained by government
And it had been agreed
That stray dogs in our cities
That worrisomely feed
On what is tossed around the place
They grope and hopefully
Find people who will help them
Live still happily
But of course the pope was coming
And decisions thus were made
To slaughter all these strays boys
End their sick parade
Clear the streets of their ghostly forms
And show us in good light
Enter the wonderful activists
The heroic and the bright
Lights among us warm and caring
Thoughtful to a tee
They came out to tAke charge
To rescue some and to be
There for some but sadly the killers
Attacked these souls
And accused them of attacking them
With their myriad controls
So these activists are facing fines and court and
Serious stuff
They were the fearless undaunted ones
Who couldn’t get enough
And they remained so resolute
In the face of ominous crime
Unshrinking and unshakable
And may soon though be serving time
We all must remember mother
When she carried us and she
Protected us and cared for us
We must now care for thee
Each of those enduring pain
We must think well and say
Every earthling deserves a chance
So let’s dwell on them today
