Lambs

It happened in Armagh
That’s Northern Ireland
Lambs that’s babies
Innocent as hell
Just standing in a field
Entirely helpless
Their conscience was as clear
Clear as a bell

A playfulness
We have seen it in them many times
Inoffensive a state of honest grace
Undefiled, unfallen sinless babies
And now they lay their souls
Lost without trace

Someone some brute warrior arse
Took wicked
Cut their right ears off
The stress took hold
Those little souls their hearts
Gave out like crazy
And by the time they found them
Yea stone cold

Who takes whatever from a baby animal
What sinful shit believes he has the right
To murder in cold blood these little infants
Their tears no doubt as someone turned the light
Out on their lives why would someone do this
Frustrated maybe taking out their pain
Anger maybe this is vile and nasty
Reality shows there was nothing to gain

One wonders how a baby leaves
It’s life behind
Looking back and wondering just why
It came into our world for a good reason
And some bright spark
Helped it just to die

That shock that evil agony
Imagine it
The innocence the playfulness
The grace
Immaculate unhardened soft and cuddly
Murdered by the scum the human race
