If I was a Seal

If I was a Seal
In Namibia, now
I’d realise nothing
was worst
than what was appearing
on internet screens
and knowing our bubble
had burst

The blue coats are coming
by the first of July
These murdering bastards
Who are gonna let fly
with their cudgels
and anything else they can use
to see that our babies
they really abuse

If I was a Seal
Well I know how I’d feel
being threatened like this
from afar
a so called sanctuary
that’s what they say
the tourists who come
no!, they put us away
pulp up our pups
and slaughter us too
not on your nelly
They just won’t tell you

But that’s what they are into
and thousands will be
chopped up and afterwards skinned
you will see
just so much sausage meat
that seemingly
Is what men believe
we were put here to be

its because we eat fish
and they don’t want to share
its because its our wish to compete
we’re aware
they want the sea’s bounty
and we are to die
our babies
our sweet suckling babies will lie

waiting and blue coats will come
and the scenes
of pups being smashed
smashed to smithereens.
will echo across the sands
and all our tears
and our blood and our guts
will remain here for years.
