Good bye from Perth

She came to Perth Railway Station
and sitting on the train
I watched her carrying Angela
as tears fell like warm rain
I wanted her to come with me
not wave and say goodbye
The India Pacific moved a bit
and I did cry
trying to hold back the flood
but really twas no use
I wished I wasn’t going
but my head was in some noose
tightening ever tighter
as we pulled away
and she was gone forever
it truly felt that way
21 more days before
those
poignant eyes I’d see
could I possibly last that long
complete, uncertainty
welled up inside my body
I sat back in my chair
swapping thoughts of happiness
with dollops of despair.
