Pets at home
really have pulled off a coup
they have worked through the
activists
possibly you
may feel that big store
down the street is ok
with its vast stock of pet food
its spruced up the way
you and your pets
can benefit and
its customer friendly
they do understand
clearly the training
and employment of souls
is up there its rocking
and could be its poles
apart from some corporate
entities who
don’t invest quite as much
in it as they should do
so its a pretty friendly place
and the staff try
they are courteous always
and clearly apply
good customer service
throughout the store
and really in essence
who could ask for more
the rabbits and hamsters
in a cage in their run
its a smack in the face
but what they have done
is thought very carefully
how we’d react
and gone at it truthfully
with some clear tact
its corporate know how
there’s money to spend
and they spent it and wisely
for they are our friend
Pets at Home
took the challenge
the RSPCA and others
have apparently gone out of their way
to forget what they thought about
in the distant past
and cosy up with them
and its all happened fast
pets in the pet shops
the puppy mill thing
a far cry it seems from
what they now bring
to the market place
dressed up as sugar and spice
and puppy dogs tails
and everything nice
its about conditioning
thats what they do
they ramp up the facility
and take the view
for me I don’t like it
its the point of it all
selling live animals
for me isn’t cool
when I go to the Hemel Store
it bothers me
those cute little rabbits
when the children see
there’s pressure to buy
an emotional choice
should we be faced with
did we have a voice
the giant is cracking its knuckles
and we
may see more and more
local zoo’s possibly
where inmates are for sale
the progress is fast
to me its a step too far
and my thoughts of the past
come flooding back
and apparently they
have announced such
an increase
so it is on the way
