A sickness now prevails
an arrogance beyond
really any decency
on how we should respond
this evil this depravity
has reached into our core
diminishing all decency
and what we are living for
as entertainment we will
soon be offered
a snap shot of the cruelty
to share
the evils of incarceration
on a factory farm
a travesty that’s really rather rare
their mean existence scars
the basic providence
a chance to witness
just what we have done
its called a pig adventure
Pig Hell is how they feel
I can’t imagine the where for all
and how this could be real
all the production facilities
open to those who
would like to spend and hour or so
wondering what they do
cooped up in these crates and halls
inside all their days
rooting curiously adventurous
but maligned in so many ways
imprisoned in a facility
that is alien and sad
the pregnant ones
the insemination areas
the mad
the mental states
the frustration
all on public show
the futility of living
just the place to go
reduced down to a circus
a mentality where they
then become the performers
presumably people pay
to see their inner torture
and imagine that this is right
pigs should live in prison cells
and be in the public’s sight
their crime was birth
creation offered them a space
and their lives would be documented
they would know their place
every single moment
of every single day
someone would be watching them
and laughing all the way
an independent animal
forced to be on view
forced to stay inside a cell
with nothing much to do
no sunshine to feel on one’s back
no mud to cool the skin
no roots to dig up in the wood
that’s when life just wears thin
a facility commanding entertainment for
families to come into
I must say I abhor
the insensitive creation
which will lead to more sadness for
those prisoners all innocent
of crime and what is more
to even contemplate this
leaves me feeling cold
leaves me with a sadness
and frustration that I am old
and beginning now to realise
that morality has gone
that the earthlings are now
commodities
and their light has never shone
so dimly and humanity has reached
an awful low
the abyss is now upon us
an in it we seem to grow
to thrive for in this darkness
we lose our eyes to see
we lose our hearts to fathom
we are dead effectively.
