Samaritans I don’t think so

A tiny innocent lovely deer
cute and sweet and lacking fear
was taken in by a shelter they
loved it and tended it,
it was the way
anyone would with an inkling
of heart
but of course the finger wagging
did start
the anonymous phone calls
to the cops
who came right away
they pulled out the stops

heavily armed in riot gear
just looking at them
inflates the fear
seized the fawn took it away
and brought it back
yes it did pay
in a body bag it was given back
it had faced the big attack
it was dead dead to the world
and in the body bag lay curled

what it showed was the truest threat
that all of us haven’t seen nothing yet

and its gone viral
all can see
what is the outcome
for you and me
a swat team clad in riot gear
if they are sent to kill a deer
what about us
the message is clear
