We often call them voiceless
But their voices reach the sky
Wherever they are brutalised
And made to kneel and cry
Tortured their benevolence
And chivalry are high
It’s the villains and despoilers
Dry eyed and unfeeling
Arrogant and ignorant
Though constantly revealing
A responsiveness above all others
Animals you see
Mirror their benevolence
And amiability
